Larry Jones

Larry has more than 20 years of experience teaching dance and is a second generation dance teacher. He was accepted to Butler University’s Dance Major Program where he received extensive training. Larry began his teaching career in Los Angeles teaching for Al Gilbert and Henry LeTang. He has taught nationally for Dance Educators of America and Hoctors Dance Caravan. While in Los Angeles, Larry also worked professionally as an actor and dancer, appearing in such movies as, “Newsies”, “Lambada”, and “Book of Love”. He was a member of the Tap Dance Ensemble “Rhythm Rascals” directed by Jim Taylor. He was privileged also to have worked with Will Smith in several episodes of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.
Larry has been teaching dance in the Indianapolis area for the past 15 years and has been the Artistic Director of several award winning competitive dance teams. He has also been a guest choreographer for the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble and Carmel Community Players. Larry has been involved in Judging at several well known national dance competitions.
Larry teaches tap, jazz, lyrical, lcaps and turns, recreational hip hop, acting and martial arts. His unique and motivational style of teaching has produced many dancers who have gone on the dance professionally and pursue teaching careers of their own.
Larry currently teaches lyrical, jazz and intermediate/advanced tap to teens and adults at Ballerinas. He has partnered fellow faculty member’s in Markitenka, Paquita and Cinderella. His choreography for our two annual shows has been challenging and beautiful. We look forward to his contribution for this year!
